Young Citizens Award
Hello my fellow sons
I would like to let you know that the Detachment of New Jersey has an award to honor that outstanding male or female who has volunteered their time,served their community unselfishly,or that has done something extra special to help others.Please enter this person for a chance at this award. This person must be of Jr./Sr.high school age, but not older then 17 years old.he/she can not be a member of The American Legion Family; however the post, unit,or squadron of the legion must sponsor them. the application will send out around Jan. 2011 to the squadrons. i am going to try to get the application on the website for down load asap, to make it easier to get the word out for this award. If you need more applications,feel free to copy an original that will be sent out both front and back. if you have any questions, please contact me. All applications and essays must be sent to me no later then May 1, 2011. after getting the applications please try to drop it off to the local high schools, fire departments first aids squads etc local groups that have younger youth members to get the word out about the award. thank you for your help.
