Webster’s definition for Americanism:
1: a characteristic feature of American English especially as contrasted with British English
2: attachment or allegiance to the traditions, interests, or ideals of the U.S.
3 a: a custom or trait peculiar to America
b: the political principles and practices essential to American culture
The Sons of The American Legion Detachment of New Jersey has several committees which fall under the umbrella of the Americanism Commission.
The committees and the chairman for each are as follows:
Boy’s State: PDC Tom Marsden
Girl’s State: PDC James Noble
Legislative: PDC Patrick Gallagher
National Emergency Fund (NEF): Dean Staknys
POW/MIA: Rich Hodum
Son of the Year: PDC C. David Page
Each committee reflects the values and spirit of Americanism. We are looking for more members to develop and assist in many areas.
